I don't know how long it will last, but my time has been pretty much taken with a temporary job at the place of my past employment. The money is good but getting out of the house for a while has been refreshing. The outside temperatures have already begun to taper off a bit with the nights dropping into the 60's. Along with this weather change comes the possibility of catching a flu virus. The FDA has published an article on its website concerning vaccinations for the Flu Season. I have included a portion of it below with a link to the full story. If we have certain health problems or are past past what is considered middle age, these vaccines could be very important to maintaining our best possible health. An interesting story on Yahoo news this morning was concerning a hospital in Dallas, TX that reported an illegal who applied for a cafeteria job. The illegal involved used a counterfeit social security on her job application. The hospital involved was criticized by some for reporting the applying illegal. One immigration attorney stated that there is no obligation on the employers part to report such instances. How untrue can any one statement be? People have a tendency to use the "little white lie" or "what's best for me or my company?" self-reasoning when instances like the above take place. What would the people that feel this way do if someone stole something of little value from them? Do you think that they would let this slide? Probably not. Is there really a deciding factor that dictates how bad a crime should be before it is reported to the authorities? This also goes for the belief that a crime has been committed. To me, the answer is no. A crime is a crime and should be brought to the attention of the proper authorities. The decision of being guilty or not and the administering of punishment should then be decided by the authorities and punishment administered accordingly. If for no other reason, these people should be reported so that we have an accurate record of them residing in the United States. This may prove handy if the occasion arises that they need to be found for some reason other than employment records. See what happens if you fail to send back a census report that you have been chosen to fill out and return. A lot of regular voters are dye-hard party people and will vote for whoever their party candidate happens to be, good or bad. I'm a candidate voter and vote for whoever I feel will do the best job for our country and my moral beliefs. The vice presidents have been chosen by both candidates. Do you feel that the choices each made will in a noticeable way influence their chances of being elected? These vice presidential selections will not influence my choice of candidates because my mind has been made up for some time. Just remember that "Change" may not always be for something more positive. _______________ If nothing else, Sarah Palin has leant a breath of fresh air to an ever so boring presidential race. Her presence seems to have added a certain human touch that has been missing through the whole election. I believe that she adds a much needed positive aspect to the leadership of this country. Don't you think that Obama sees this as a threat to his presidential possibilities? She is a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoys hunting, fishing, Alaska history, and all that Alaska's great outdoors has to offer. In my opinion, this says a lot her credentials. We do not need more gun control, etc. __________________________________________________________ Interesting Fact: White Lake near Elizabethtown, North Carolina has a white sandy bottom with crystal clear water. It has also been called one the "Nation's Safest Beach." It is great for children in that there are no currents, no tides, hazardous conditions or dangers of any kind to swimmers. I can attest to this being great vacation spot in the state of North Carolina.
Being Successful With Affiliate Marketing I have read a lot of web logs and newsletters about making money through affiliate programs and would like to add some comments about these programs and their authenticity. As I have discovered through experience, that a lot of these programs are great to work with and the people running them will put forth a every effort to assist you in every way that they can. Your efforts are rewarded if you can get the traffic to your site and get these peoples to interest and make them stay long enough to purchase something, whether it is a product or a service. The main ingredient for a successful website is great content that tells the visitors why they should buy from you. Become an expert in your field. There is enough information on the web that anyone with enough patience and desire can become very knowledgeable in almost any field. The key is to pick something that peaks your interest to a point that you don’t mind taking the time to learn about the subject. Writing about a subject is very easy to do if you have any kind of mastery of the English language and know how to effectively use the search engines. If you are not a professional copywriter, it would be in your best interest to study some effective copywriting methods by some well know professional or professionals. One of the first things that I learned was that we are not selling our customers a product but a solution to one of their problems or a fulfillment to one of their desires. My advice to anyone is to come up with good original content, submit your website to as many Search Engines that are relevant to your content, and optimize make your site for high ranking. Read good articles on ways that will help you gain traffic to your website and try to follow these instructions as closely as you possibly can. Find ways to advertise whether they are free or paid. Pay Per Click or PPC is one of these. You may also want to start an interesting and informative newsletter. I do not mean a sales page but a newsletter that is beneficial to your readers. Most marketing newsletters are nothing more than sales ads for the person sending them. There is not beneficial information only affiliate links. My theory about these is to hit the unsubscribe link as soon as possible. _________________________________________________________ Gasoline Prices The past week has been a source of anxiety for some people and one of excitement for others. Gas prices have soared even higher in the aftermath of hurricane Ike and some politicians or public offices have used this to try to advance their own political objectives. They want to attack some of the station owners for price gouging. Personally, I think that the concerns should have started a long time ago and not at the gas station level but at the source of our gasoline problems, the greedy oil companies. Don't get me wrong, presently there probably are some instances of price gouging in our area with some selling gasoline at almost $7.00 and others selling at close to $4.00. The close to $7.00 price was printed in our local paper this morning. In our area of the U.S. there have been lines of customers extending some distance down public streets and roads to purchase gasoline at these exorbitant prices. The anxiety for drivers has shifted from price to supply. Fights and threats have erupted in the crowds at the gasoline pumps. As one may say, tempers running short some are some are letting others strip them of their joy. Don't let the gasoline prices and lines weigh on you to much.
